Recycling is a process by which waste materials are collected, processed and reintroduced as new and reusable materials. Recycling reduces waste, lowers consumption of raw materials, and decreases energy use, as well as reduces air and water pollution.
With experience recycling in fine hotels, high security embassies, and a variety of other institutions, EG can work with any client to develop effective recycling systems. EG begins the process with an audit of the client’s existing waste management system. Next, EG trains staff and to develop an efficient collection practices. A designated EG staff member is assigned to each client to monitor the process, troubleshoot, and address staff questions about recyclables. When the program has been implemented, EG can support PR efforts with publicity resources about recycling and the client’s commitment to greening.
Implementing EG’s collection program is simple, clean and efficient. The EG team gathers recyclable waste from sites around Amman. The team transports the waste to EG’s vocational training center where materials are sorted. The materials are sold to processors where they are recycled. The recyclable material includes but is not limited to:
- Paper: newspapers, magazines, office paper and flattened cardboard
- Aluminum and steel
- Printer and copier toner cartridges
- Glass bottles (unbroken)
- PET bottles (plastic water bottles)
- Plastic materials from kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.
- Soap, shampoo, unused toilet paper, slippers, metal hangers, etc.
- Bread and cooking oil
